From an initial assessment it was clear that extending this three storey house into the back garden could achieve the best results through a reconfiguration of the main spaces and the main circulation routes of the ground floor. From a preliminary client brief of approximately 35 SqM of extension area all requirements were delivered in a 15 SqM extension thus minimising the reduction of open space in the garden. The extension is light filled from the floor to ceiling glazing and doors and the roof light located deep within the plan.
